A table of plants, with sources.
plantindex.org is a public plant index. Every plant is a row: common and scientific name, family, growth habit, and growing conditions. It starts with Texas native plants and will grow into a general index.
Nothing here is invented. Names, family, growth habit, duration and native status come from the USDA PLANTS Database (public domain). Texas presence, sun, water use, soil moisture, size notes, bloom and wildlife facts come from the plant pages of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Native Plant Information Network; each plant links the exact page used. Cross-reference IDs (POWO, IPNI, GBIF) come from Wikidata (CC0). If a source does not state something, the field is simply left out. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are credited, with their license, on each plant.
